I posted about my hellish trip to the urgent care clinic last night, here's the follow-up.
Called after I got the pain under control, nothing more than the dull hangover ache of the CH. Called the clinic back to see if I could talk to the doc to explain why I left before I let her treat me. Ended up with the nurse on the phone--she kept trying to tell me that she was not trying to be rude, just that she wanted to make sure I knew what I had going on. Said that she was trying to help me prepare for what the doctors were going to probably say to me when they came in and examined me. I don't know how many times I had to remind her I knew more about my medical condition and status than she did, and that after going through this headache episode for five months I had gone through plenty with all sorts of doctors. She kept tryign to tell me that the way I was saying she came across is not how she was trying to come across. Kept making one excuse after another. Then tried shifting it around to get upset with me for walking out! Do you think I'm going to willingly subject myself to that much extra agony if I don't have to? Ended up hanging up the phone with nothing resolved other than knowing she was going to make her story to her bosses sound like she was simply trying to help me and being a good girl when I just flipped out and took off.
I called the nursing manager at the clinic today and lodged a verbal complaint, they are sending me a form to lodge a written complaint as well. Both complaints against the nurse will go to the director of the clinic. I am also lodging a formal written complaint with our state board of registered nurses. I will not let that level of unprofessional behavior and rudeness go away lightly.
