There has been a strong association between migraines and hormones...less so with clusters, but there is some evidence that there is a relation. Many women who are subject to migraines get much better while on birth control pills, but about 50% get much worse. They have yet to find a good explanation for this, but it is absolutely true.
Many women stop having migraines after they reach menopause. I don't know if this is true for clusters (never seen it written anywhere), but if the birth control pills help you...maybe you have a point in your life to look forward to no more headaches.
