My concentrator is in my master suite isolated from the rest of the house, no phones, an overhead ceiling fan, and dark drapes over the window, and I keep the room at 68 F. I have the humidifier attachment on my concentrator that is kept full with distilled water, oxygen is very dry and is an irritant, I use the face mask that covers the nose and mouth with an inlet and outlet check valve, adjustment is cranked to maximum. When that dreaded time comes, click on the concentrator, rinse my face with cold tap water, coat the inside of my nose with non-perfumed A&D ointment, and tape it closed with 2" of masking tape, my nostrils are very sore at this point with the right one plugged, lie on my bed, and take deep breaths trying to concentrate on my foot, anything but my head, I had relaxation therapy, and the calmer I am, the quicker I get relief, a cool dark quiet room is most ideal for this, my very own private little hell, also a good time to do some praying.
