Have to hide this condition from friends and co-workers.
Until someone discovers me hiding in a stairwell or broom
closet shooting Imitrex. Last week a co-worker said I
looked so bad he wanted to call 911.
Good hearted friends sympathize and explain they know
what I'm going through because they suffer too-
"I had one so bad I had to lie down and go to sleep.
And they are all experts, claiming if I'd only go to
their aroma therapist, or reflexologist, hypnotherapist,
nutritionist,
wear magnetic head bands, ghuru, herbalist etc. I would be cured.
I don't have the time and money to explore every
possible approach.
And when they catch me having an attack again, they
ask why I never sought the therapy they suggested.
"You never saw my shrink? I don't knowm I
think you like suffering"
Thank goodness for this message board and looking
forward to Las Vegas when I CAN TALK ABOUT IT!
This condition is not well known, has a bad or
weak name, and
deserves more respectful recognition.
Hope we can address this in August.
