Insurance rejected oxygen....Huh?

Oxygen has been a life saver for my husband (as you all know). Other abortives have not worked or made him sick. The stupid insurance company has rejected oxygen, stating it's "not accepted practice".
I can't fight the headaches but I can fight the insurance co. Can anyone give me info on documented use of oxygen? Med. articles, Papers, anything?
