Dearest Elaine-
The past few days have been very emotional here at ch.com, and in homes of clusterheads around the world. ICQ has been buzzing, AT&T stock rose 2 points due to the increased volume of long distance calls and the rumor is that God had to get Sts. Peter, Paul and Mary (I think that's the other one) to help field all the prayers.
You have touched the hearts, minds and souls of hundreds, no thousands, of people all over the world. Clusterheads, their supporters, their families, their friends.
You have brought humor, compassion, advice, comfort, support and love to this place. I'll let the others speak for themselves, but I know many who've said you helped calm them down when needed, lift them up when needed and laugh when it was really needed.
I also know you're often too hard on yourself. You never feel that you've done enough for others. How do I make you understand how wrong you are on this one? Do I talk of the times you've pulled me out of depression and anger and helplessness? Do I remind you of the times you've made me laugh? Or do I simply tell you of all the times you never knew about when I switched off the computer after talking to you and went to bed with a smile on my face?
I'm proud to call you my friend.
I'm honored to have you call me your friend.
Now, for once in your life, do what the doctors tell you, okay? We want you back happy and healthy soon.
