My doctor prescribed this to get me into deep REM sleep in 1996. He says the recommended dosage is 10 mg with 1 mg of clonapin to "get you to sleep". I can take the 1 mg of clonapin but I had to adjust the doxipin to 2.5 mg through liquid form in a dropper. It has helped me more than anything. My doctor wants to get me up to at least 5 mg, and I am almost at 4 mg now. I sleep very soundly, but do not wake up groggy. It has been a life saver for me.
