Ok, here is the updates I promised all of you. First of all let me start by saying I called the headache clinic in Cincinnati ohio, and they do not accept our insurace! They did tell me however that one of the first things they do is a MRI, and since my husband had already had one and it was normal, they would then proceed with allergy tests, that they have found that some foods and dyes can be a trigger, and adjusting the diet has cured people, so off we go tomorrow to a local allergist!
Next, I talked to my husbands boss today regarding his father in law having these monsters, he said a long time ago, they called them histamine soflagia, which makes sense that our own family doctor referred to them as histamine headaches. This is the theroy behind them as I understand it: The body produces histamines naturally, sometimes, the body over produces them, such as during season changes, and causes an allergic reaction in the result of a histamine headache, know known as clusters, a long time ago, they treated people with anti-histamines, which would make sense why bendryl works on occassion for my husband. Now, keep in mind, if you have taken an anti-histamine within 48 hrs, you cannot have an allergy test done, as it gives false reactions, non-reactions. Anyhow, not sure of the spelling, but it sounds like urgot shots were given to my husbands boss' father in law every day for several months, and he has been painfree for YEARS! He went to an ent (ear, nose and throat) doctor who determined this, so I now have a call into his ENT. Lets hope this works!!!! Good luck
