For me it's my warning sign or wake up call (so to speak) to sniff my Migranal or Imitrex. Usually if I inhale during that aura I can prevent the pain of the bout. Of course that's only if I'm not on my steroids. Even then one will slip through.
At night the pain doesn't wake me up until it's full blown or real close to full blown.
