Thanx for the tip re: carotid artery pressure. I managed to ratchet up the efficacy of the technique by pressing a cold cloth against the artery as well. During two CH's though, pressure intensified the pain. Release caused the increased pain to subside slightly. The application of a hot cloth produced even greater relief. What this experience suggested to me was that not every single CH is caused by dilative pressure, which we try to reduce via some form of constriction. Some CH's may be caused by constrictive pressure and alleviated by the application of heat. Again, thanx for the tip: it's been most effective in 80% of my headaches.
