I'm finally dealing with the grim fact that I am, indeed, now chronic, and I have recently started taking topamax (currently at 2X25 a day and upping that by 25 a week) and 360 verapamil.
I'm okay during the day, for the most part, but around 3:30 AM the headaches march on in, and that's it for the rest of the night. I take the 02, I'm fine for a few minutes, I lie down, and then they hit again, and this repeats itself over and over and over again until I give up and get up and start what becomes a very long day.
Does any one else have this particular pattern? It's as if the lieing down is bringing-on the HAs, not the sleeping.
Also, at what doseage level does topamax really start to become effective. I know: we're all different etc. etc., but any experience or advice you all could pass-on would be appreciated. I am to see the neurologist in two weeks, but thanks in advance for your help, as usual.
