Re the BP spikes..yes, I've had the same experience and about two hours later had a full blown 9+. For me, it's a tip off for what's coming. My Dr. was concerned enough to make me come in, but when they checked me in the office I was 120/70. That was several hours AFTER one ended.
Don't know if this helps...but to me the BP is a sure indicator.
