I absolutely agree that we need to deal with these HAs in ways which, cognitively, make them less terrible for us. We need to think differently about them so they don't control us. We need to tell ourselves that they won't control us and we will get through this moment, and the next until they're gone. This is called cognive restructuring or, in some circles, rational emotive thinking. Other elaxtion techniques can also be helpful such as deep breathing.

However, biofeedback is about NOT thinking. It's about moving to a slightly different level of consciousness. It's NOT about TELLING my fingers to get warmer; but about FEELING warmth. Biofeedback is not about relaxing through will and THINKING differently, but about relaxing through -- well -- relaxing. In the grips of a CH, there's no way to effectively use biofeedback. At least this is my experience.

Anyone out there who can successfully use true biofeedback during an attack, more power to you. Figure out how to teach us and you'll make millions!
