I hope not to step on any toes, or say something out of line, but I've been on this board for a little over a week. I've seen postings from people who are mad as hell about someone else's posting, posters that are mad as hell because they get slammed if they post, and reactions to the poster and postees. I am definitely not an internetologist, a cluterheadologist, or any kind of ologist of any sort. All I know that this seems to be a community of over 1500 people bound together by one common thread, cluster headaches. Imagine a village of 1500 people without the bond of clusters, and how much disagreement, differing opinions, prejudices, and just plain orneriness there would be on any given day, and all 1500 of us has the opportunity to take the stage, or have his/her say. All in all, I'd say we're doing a pretty good job. There is a hell of alot of usefull information traded, a lot of support given and received, and today, particularly, a lot of fun, headache forgetting nonsense to be had.(I particulary liked Judi Mosely's "Just Checkin" synopsis.
Well anyway, you throw 1500 people together and you are bound to have discension, but it's up to us to get what we can from this. And I for one have gotten a lot. I've realised that I am luckier than hell to have great insurance, I am luckier than hell that my headaches are episodic and go away for a while, I am luckier than hell to have my family that hurts right along with me, and now I feel luckier than hell to have a computer and access to this site that gives me access to hundreds more people with the same affliction I've got, and the chance to say anything we want about it.
May a universal cure be found, and found in our lifetime.
