Your neck pain description is very similar to what I experience. When i first went to my doctor about the HA's..i told him about my neck and shoulder ache. he did a few tests and noticed that my neck range of motion is severly limited compared to the other side. He did x-rays and everything was normal. It seems the more I try to rub my neck and shoulder and relax it...the worse my headaches are. i definately know the two are related somehow.
As for a chiropractor...my cousin who is a chiropractor was in town for a visit and gave me an adjustment. I was HA free for 1 1/2 days and then got hit really hard with one. (It's like it was storing itself up, waiting to attack)
anyway...she commented about how bad my shoulder was (the CH side) and told me to try to concentrate on keeping my shoulder down during the day and when i sleep at night. I have tried...but like i said, the more i move my shoulder...the worse the CH.
