I started Verapamil last December. It got rid of the
worst part of the CH (the pain), but the shadow was
always there. I stopped in February, thinking it was
over. It wasn't. I've been chronic since. They are slowly
getting worse and worse. I never went back on the verapamil,
just because I don't like to take pills every day.
I also remember reading something about calcium channel
blockers causing cancer and memory loss, etc. My neuro
said he never heard of those side effects (I read it in
Time magazine). I asked my neuro about the diflucan/candida
connection. He wouldn't hear of it. I dropped off some literature
yesterday on Dr. Mellick's Ritalin results. I'm waiting
to see his response. I think I'm the only CH patient that
my current neuro has. I may try the verapamil again. I may
find a new doctor. But I won't give up. Hope this helps.
