This is not about measuring up. This is about sharing And if you ask me there is an over abundance of sharing about medicine and we need a balance on this board. People have to know that eventually when you're having dozens of headaches a week, you cannot physically tolerate taking medication every time.
I am not a SAINT. I am however fortunate not to have to take drugs every time I have a cluster - eventhough I've had them for 17 years and they are very, very severe.
I go to a very knowledgeable neurologist who knows a graet deal about CH and chronic pain and we have worked very hard to get me to the point where I have accepted that CH is part of my life and that other alternatives must be considered.
If this all just a matter of ridding myself of pain I would have committed suicide years ago.
But this is a matter of trying to have the highest standard and quality of life possible. One can't have that if they're drugged out.
My Goodness, we've got people on this board talking about how cocaine can help with CH. Another person posted about taking 22 injections of Imitrex or something like that in two weeks.
ISN"T THIS DANGEROUS?
You cannot let the pain control you so much that you are willing to do anything to get rid of it.
Now this is not my way of being a saint. This is my way of USING MY HEAD and showing other people that DRUGS are not the only option.
Imagine that!

P.S. Claudette, it is your personal choice how to relieve your pain and live with CH. Please do not berate anyone for suggesting alternative methods. This board is not just for narcotics!
