Last month I was fired for "Pattern Absenteeism."
I'm currently going thru the worst phase in the 16 yrs.
I've had Clusters. I also suffer from Tension headaches.
Here is a brief description of what happened. If you
would like more detailed info or have, any help that
you would like to give me that you would not want to
post please email me at dcarpen@vnet.net. Sorry for
being so long winded I just do not know what to do next.
Last month I was fired for "Pattern Absenteeism." I had
FMLA papers signed and approved by my former employer
of 4 years. They even wrote me up this year for my
absenteeism. (In the past, they never questioned my
Clusters and worked with me on them). I was able to get
that removed after they recalculated my days absent with
FMLA.
Shortly before that, my supervisor and I started having
major problems. I complained to Human Resources and a
meeting was set up. I did not want any thing to happen
to him I just wanted to be moved to another department.
(This company employs 625+ employees) My thinking was
"if I move that would/should help me get my CH under
control again. My move was denied and I was told that
I would have to make a bad situation into a good
situation and try to do what was best for the company.
(I explained to them how work was affecting them.)
I tried to do this but my Clusters were getting worse.
After 7 weeks I was fired for the "Pattern Absenteeism."
After going thru my appeals at work, I learned that they
had been testing me on what days I missed i.e. "can you
work this weekend?" Then writing down the days they
wanted me to work, and when I missed these days, they
said, "I was using my headaches to get out of work." So
after losing my appeals I filed for unemployment, was
initially denied. Then thru an appeal it was demeaned
I just unjustly fired and was due unemployment pay.
After thinking about, I call the EEOC today and I am
waiting their phone call. I am unsure what I need to do
next. Do try to get all the information I can get to
help the EEOC rep. learn about Clusters or should I
expect them to know what they are? Should I call a
Lawyer too? What do I need to do to help me/them prove
that I was unjustly fired?
The worst thing about all of this is that I was I lost
the best job working for the best corporation that I
had ever worked for, and was being paid the top money
in my area for any company around.
Thanks for listening!
