We seem to be in a similar situation: about same
age of onset of clusters and close to same age now.
But I can't imagine going through this horror
without several items in my arsenal. I hope you'll
find a drug that works. As a result of another
post, I'm definitely going to try Imitrex--first,
the nasal spray, then the injection, if necessary.
For a real easy thing, have you tried black coffee?
My husband brews it before I go to bed, then puts
it in a Stanley thermos (it stays hot all night).
At the first sign of a cluster (the tingling stage,
prepain, if possible), I down the coffee. It
works a lot of the time. The caffeine as medication
element can't be overstated in treating cluster.
I was unable to take Cafergot, because I got
nauseus. Coffee doesn't have this bad side effect.
