I haven't written for a long time to this site. The sheer
volume of messages is just too overwhelming now.
I find it very hard to weed through all the messages.
For what it's worth, my husband, Ken, who has had
chronic clusters for 7 yrs underwent histamine de-
sensitization treatment at Greenwich, CT Hospital.
(Do you know they have valet parking there? Only
in the richest town in the country) Anyway, Dr.
Rapoport from teh New England Center for Headache is his Ken's doctor, and he suggested Ken
try it. I know it is being done at other facilities across the country as well. The Diamond Clinic in Chicago
is the only one I can think of right now. Anyway, Ken dgot there on Monday morning only to find out
that the histamine had not arrived. It did not arrive until Wednesday morning. I was so angry, I was ready to do bodily injury to Dr. Rapoport. The treatment seemed to do some good while Ken was
in the hospital, but as soon as he came home, he was
actually worse. When we went to see Rapoport for
his 2 week follow up, he said he wasn't surprised because Ken probably hadn't undergone the procedure for a long enough time, and that in "the old
days" before HMO restrictions, they used to keep
patients on the treatment for 8 to 12 days. If we didn't
rely on this jerk for medication, he'd be pushing up daisies right now, I can assure you. The gall of that
man to make Ken (and me) go through all that trouble and expense for a treatment that he probably knew would not help at all. He's done nothing but treat my husband like a guinea pig, and I'm sick of it. He once
sent us to Houston, TX to see a doctor, and when we
returned he said that he hadn't realized that the doctor who trained the doctor in Houston was practicing in Hartford, CT about 10 minutes from where we live! I am really sick of this a--h----. Ken represents a failure, and he just can't stand it. I have
no use for him or his unsympythatic and misanthropic nurse Joan and would not recommend them to anyone. They are resting on past laurels, but have nothing cutting edge to offer. Now he thinks we should perhaps transfer Ken's file to his internist up here. I hope he rots in hell. I'm thinking of having a
book burning of all his stupid books and articles that
he has plastered all over his office.
