That is a very good way to describe the pain. I often used the words massage-like or brilliant. I know it sounds a little crazy (especially since I don't take medication for my attacks), but sometimes when the pain hits its peak, I feel a drug-like effect--like a high, I guess. Despite all of the pain, I would almost say it is comforting... I wonder if it's maybe the body's way of dealing with extreme pain, I don't know.
