First of all, you get lots of admiration for coping while farming. I'm at least in an office situation where I can crawl under my desk when I need to....

Something I've used since I read it in a post on this board is the term "exquisite pain". Most people realize I'm talking about something different and scary when I use that term. When I have a "10", there is nothing else to focus on but the pure, flawless, exquisite pain -- it would be a beautiful high if it didn't hurt so much.

Those who still don't get it are directed to this page. There's a medical description on MedScape, too, that contains the line: "This is the highest level of pain that a physician will encounter...".

Failing that, try Pete's suggestion.
