O2 is great for me, works in about 8-10 minutes and has only failed me once this year (it was a "10" that took two blasts of Imitrex to kill off).
You should ask the people you're renting the O2 regulator from -- my rental fee is also $50 per month -- what their charge to buy it is. Mine was $115.00 and they applied my first month's rent toward the purchase. Once you've paid a third month's rent, they're ahead of you!
Also, if you shop you can probably find an equal regulator for lots less. Call up the bulk oxygen supplier in your area that supplies the hospitals. If you don't know who that is, call your favorite hospital and ask for the engineering department. They'll tell you, and they also might have a source for the things you need.
