Carl:
I've been in that black pit before, so I think I
have some glimmer of what you're going through.
Don't give up! NEVER let the beast get the best of
you. You never know what's around the bend, in
the way of research and new drugs.
In addition to clusters, I've just developed chronic fatigue
syndrome. This condition has put me on disability,
so I've been extremely depressed. But guess what?
I found some very recent research that points to
an over the counter product that can help chronic
fatigue...and it's been working for me. So, like I
said, you never know. I'm sure you've been following
the latest finding on cluster headaches, which
points to an abnormality in the structure of the
hypothalamus in clusterheads. This is a VERY
exciting finding, which could lead to new drugs.
As far as people flaming each other on this board,
well, we're all suffering and nerves get frayed.
We're all only human. In my personal life, whenever
I'm feeling bad, I get angry at the person I love
most: my husband. So it's only natural for there
to be some anger expressed on this board. I think
that, considering the extreme hardship of dealing
with clusters, we're all usually very gentle and
caring with each other. Of course, the problem is,
we're so fragile, that is someone says a cross
word, it's easy to take it very personally and start
feeling even worse.
Please, Carl, try to cut yourself a bit of slack.
When I'm feeling real low, sometimes what I do, if
I'm able, is to find one little thing that I might
enjoy. For me, it could be a cappuccino, a good
meal, a good movie, or a hike in a pretty area. Sometimes,
doing this one good thing will give me enough of
a lift to know that life really matter. Then, on
the other hand, sometimes you just have to wait it
out and take it on faith that it will get better.
I care, Carl. You're not alone.
Take care,
Jackie
