Me - 50 on my next birthday - episodic since the age of 20.

Bout is usually about 6 weeks and remission period has grown from 1 year to my current 3. I hate to use the word "remission" - it implies that this disease is still there lurking - I have always considered the time between bouts to be my normal period and the time with clusters to be some weird aberration. So, for me, I am never in remission, I am simply back to normalcy.

My overall health is pretty good and I am unaware of any affect that clusters may have.

I responded to your post because I, too, seem to have a recent loss of energy as I rapidly approach 50 but I think it has more to do with one of my periodic mid-life crisis ( i think this is about my 10th ).

I don't smoke or drink and I exercise regulalry.

One of the best definitions of middle age that I have heard is this - " middle age is that period when, although you have given up everything that is bad for you, you still feel like shit".

Everyone on this web site has a slightly different interest regarding clusters - mine happens to be the relationship between clusters and overall health, well-being and longevity.

Although I have always baby'd the hell out of myself during an episode in order to give myself every advantage, I never felt that my clusters drained or wasted me once they were over.
