Sorry to say it Linda, but whenever the headaches change significantly...I become concerned. As many have pointed out on this board, clusters are a diagnosis of exclusion. There is no definitive test to say, yes, you are having a cluster.
So, whenever there is a big change in the way the headaches are presenting, you should be seen again. I always rescan my patients when there is a change in the quality/quantity of their headaches...and especially if there are any new neurological findings (numbness, weakness, etc). You just don't want to miss something.
