Doris,
I haven't had ergotamine for so long I can't remember any dosage info. But I do know it didn't do much for my CH.
I am taking Imitrex shots now, and they work miracles for me. I've never used the spray. I do have a suggestions about the pills though. One pill of 25 mg probably won't help you. The board had some comments around June 6 or 7 that confirmed this dosage is too small. I took the pill and thought pills were a dud (got no relief at all from 25mg pill), until I saw the board and realized the dosage was probably the problem. But the shots kill my CH in less than 5 minutes. I can be in complete misery, unable to move or look at a candle, and 5 minutes after an Imitrex shot, I could go out and chop wood. But some folks hate shots. They don't bother me . . . but CH do. But my sister uses pills, and they work good for her . . . and shots make her CH worse. Go figure. It's all how "your" machine works.
I used to get my CH in the fall way back when I first started getting them, too, but now they come whenever they feel like it . . . which is always too often.
BE WELL!
Steve W.
