Susan,
I find it interesting that your clusters never arrive when you’re pregnant. That’s an important
piece of information, because many doctors suspect our headaches are caused by some kind of
hormone imbalance. Your “pregnancy” information in the hands of the right physician could
result in a breakthrough that would benefit all of us! I’m beginning to think neurologists may be
the wrong doctors to consult for clusters. What kind of physician specializes in testing for
hormone levels? I wonder how many of us have an imbalance that is treatable. As for your
“shadows”......I’ve been getting them like crazy too, and I suspect this has something to do with
this year’s pollen levels. Maple pollen has reached record levels this year, and many people are
suffering from bad allergies who usually never experience hay fever in the spring. I’ve noticed
that when I react to the pollen, the headaches are terrible. Also, during my “non-headache”
times, I seem to almost always have shadows. Let’s hope a change of season helps us all. My
current cluster is due to be over, but shows no signs of slowing down. Anybody else think the
weather has something to do with our headaches being worse? --Vince
