Hi. I am checking out the website on behalf of my father as well, and I noticed your message. My dad started getting these awful clusters five years ago. They lasted several months, then subsided. They are back again, started about three weeks ago. He is getting about two to three per day at this time, and is on a medication called depakote. So far, it is not helping him at all. The only medication that gives a little bit of relief is Imitrex, and he is taking that in addition to the depakote, at the onset of each attack. I know how you are feeling to see your father in such pain. My dad was never a complainer and Ive never seen him take any medication until these things came along. He even mentioned suicide once during an attack several years ago. Its a horrible thing to have to go through and I can only say that I hope he will get some relief soon. I'll be thinking of your dad, too.
