hi Paul,
i too am trying to go the drugless (except for 2 excedrin at bedtime) route. i'm hanging my hat on the water. bladder be damned, if i drink enough i think i can stretch, twist and grit my way thru.
i think exercise is tricky. the wrong one can exacerbate the CH, the right one can suppress it. i used to do dumbell dead lifts with about 25 lbs and i stopped that when my CH started ... it seemed to pull my neck the wrong way. but i think pushups are good only if you hold your head right, BobP - i think - does squatthrusts, someone washed a car. the key, i think, is strain on the neck.
as far as the regimen ... maybe we all (humans) have a self-destruct gene ... i saw pbs show that mapped dangerous places to live (wind, earthquakes, floods, blizzards) and they superimposed the places people live. we flock to danger. maybe CHeads have a bit too much of that gene, and that may in some part explain the excessive number of us that smoke. not to worry - you're probably more normal than not in that regard.
Pain freedom to you - it's a human right!
