Rick, hang in there buddy! Focus on controlling the CH's and while you're at it, make sure your doctor documents in your file that you have them!

A combination of the Family Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act makes it highly illegal for an employer to treat you in any negative manner because of your condition. They MUST give you accommodation for illness, and if it is chronic (which some CH sufferers are) then they have to give you the space at the office for headache times (a dark room with a cot maybe, or a shower). The only thing they don't have to do is pay you for time off. They can often be forced to let you make the time up, though.

I was administrator at a major hospital in Memphis (2000 employees), and I actually ran into this a couple of times (not with CH but it would apply equally). If I were you, I would demand my rights -- you will probably lose in the short term (sounds like the workaholic boss might fire you) but you have lots of legal recourse in the long term. See a good lawyer, maybe even find one that has CH's!

Pain Free Days!

Dave
