My clusters started when I was 40 and I started wearing reading glasses at 50. The devil hits me in the left eye but my weakest eye is the right. It is fact that bad vision and/or bad eyeglasses can cause headaches from squinting or holding the head in an unnatural position to see through bi-focals but these headaches would be tension or stress headaches. My opinion is there is no connection between eyes and clusters. About the dental work.....my wife has worked for 3 dentists in the last 25 years and because of this connection I have gotten to know them outside the office setting. I have questioned all 3 about dental problems and clusters. One had no idea what I was talking about, one had heard of clusters but could not, in his mind, see a connection. The third dentist knew about clusters and had patients refered to him by doctors trying to find the cause of clusters. This dentist told me there is no, none, zip, zilch, nada connections between dental problems and cluster headaches. He also told me problems
between the temporal bone and the mandible, aka TMJ, has nothing to do with cluster headaches. Two dentists I questioned, outside their professional setting, told me that most TMJ diagnosis were wrong and were only a scam for a crooked dentist to get a down payment on a new Vette. My advice, take it or leave it, is search the web for information and see your own eye doctor, ear-nose-throat specialist and dentist and ask a lot of questions. If you don't like the answers or you feel they have no idea what you're talking about, find another specialist or docotr to question.
