I posted a message last week. 2-7-02. I explained how I
had surgery June of last year. I explained how I was pain
free and how I believed it was the best thing I ever did.
I can't believe some of the reponses I recieved. Comments
that are not even worth responding to. I guess the word
surgery is taboo. Let me clarify!!! If you feel hopeless!!
If you have suffered and medicines do not work!! If you
have exausted your resources!!! Your losing your life!!
Your job!! Your family!!! You feel a bullet is you next choice.
Know I have been there!!! My CH's were non stop. No periods of
remission. No consistent cycles, R&L sided radiating to the
back of the head. Four years non-stop. Every med, every class
every form opiate. "Atypical Chronic Cluster Headache."
I didn't mean to make my original message a commercial. I am sorry.
If I could just offer some principles I used for "Me". Maybe it could
offer some encouragement.
If money was no object and you had an endless cash reserve. Where would you go?
Who would you seek for Help? You could go to any Doctor. Anywhere in the world.
What doctor or doctors out there knows Cluster Headaches more than anybody else.
Great Doctors have to learn, read, research and compile evidence. A specialist(DR.)
and genral MD's have to do continuing education eveyyear. What seminars do they go to.
Who teaches these seminars? If a doctor is a surgeon or a specialist who the "hell" did
they learn from!!! You deserve "The Best" How many patients have they performed on if they do surgery?
How many patients do they have? If they are a specialist? Are the patients
satisfied, not satisfied? When we are faced with such a debilitating and rare disease
We have to find the experts. We have to do the research!! Ask the questions. Everybody has opions.
In life we need to build evidence. Money should never be an obstacle when we are talking about our lives.
For me CH's became my fight for life. I made up in my mind I would use evry penny I had, every
resource avalible!! I ate, drank and slept CH's. In the end. "For Me" the cost and effort was
worth everything. For you the answer will be differant. If it's medicine and it works use it. If
there is no medicine that works, find it, doesn't exsist, make it. Design it!
