First I would like to commend all of you for putting such a wonderful effort on trying to get our CH problem out to the public.
I was thinking about it and an idea came to me. You probably thought of this already, but I would like to share it with all of you anyway.
I am a recent (last August) graduate from college. Going through college with CH's was an almost unbearable torture, mainly due to the lack of understanding and sympathy from instructors as well as other students. I know that in this board we have many students trying to get through college and fighting the beast at the same time.
What I have experienced is that since most faculty and students never heard of this problem and do not have the slightest idea of the severity of its debilitating effects they tend to be very apathetic and indifferent towards those of us dealing with it (of course I am well aware that this attitude is not limited to college faculty).
Since MTV main target audience is young and college student crowd, it might be a great opportunity to include, among other affected lifestyles by CH’s (parents, professionals, family members of CH sufferers, etc., etc. – we have the entire spectrum here), the student dealing with the beast and trying to finish a degree. Besides educating the public on CH’s, perhaps it will also help catch the attention and interest of MTV producers to do a show on our problem (since it obviously relates to their main target audience).
If needed, I would be delighted to provide my help and also as much detail as necessary on my experience to make this possible.
I am very interested on hearing your thoughts about this.
PF to all of you!
