Hi all. I don't know if I am getting what is called a cluster headache or not. PLEASE help me out. My doctor says it may be sluder's syndrome (where the cartiledge inside the nostrils that separates way up inside veer off significantly to one side and touches the tissue on the opposing side of the nostril) anyway, he thinks I will need surgery to correct this. I however do not think this is the problem. I am not a doctor though and maybe he is right. I have had a headache mostly on for over a month now which is a little more than an annoyance, several times a day I get these 'spells' of terrible horrible pain in my left cheekbone that last anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes. They are horrible horrible. I try and push my teeth up into my cheekbone, try and push my cheekbone into my skull and nothing alleviates the pain. The doctor has me on pills that are normally taken for epilepsy. These pills are said to help nerve pain in a lower dosage. They do not work, they make me 'loopy' but I still have a 'spell' now and then. I thought it was getting better yesterday morning then last nite this stupid 'spell' hit me HARD and LONG again. If anyone can help me, please do. I need info to take to my doctor. I am seeing an EarNoseThroat specialist again Monday and am trying to get squeezed into an Endodontist. My doctor also has written to a neurologist. I have started researching myself and don't feel very confident because my head is so mixed up with either pain or drugs I can't remember half of what I see. Any info will help, email me or post.
