Since you haven't been around for a bit, I will assume you were unaware that Bob is often basically acting as a typist for his father, who is not as computer-literate as some of us. Besides, how many of us are capable of typing when in the grips of an attack? You'll note that this is when many of Bob's posts are made... when he has to deal with a background soundtrack of his father's agony.
And I fully agree with Karen-Sophia's point, that there is way too much CRAP posted here that has nothing whatsoever to do with CH. How much space in the archives is taken up with bad jokes, play-by-play reports of football playoffs, lengthy threads of "insider" jokes and snappy comebacks between regulars that should have been handled as private e-mails, apologies for posts that were sent in the heat of the moment... you name it, we got it.
Bob is not guilty of ANY of that.
I've noticed you have some strong opinions, and you are not shy about expressing them. You're pretty quick off the mark with advice to OTHERS about what is appropriate content for this message board. You've managed to ruffle the feathers of more than one veteran poster with this approach.
Let me make one of my very rare departures from my usual detached and non-judgemental style and give YOU some advice.
Next time, before you hit the "SEND" button, wait an hour. Go do something else, come back and carefukky re-read your post, then wait ANOTHER hour. Read your post AGAIN. If by that time you still think, in your best judgement, your post has some merit, then by all means go ahead and send it.
But be prepared to take the heat if your judgement was wrong.
