...was performed on me June 28, 2001. It was performed by the doctor who is chief of neurosurgery at University of California San Francisco Medical Center. Needless to say that I don't have any problems with stroke-like appearance or symptoms, though I have not had any relief from the headaches either. I have been chronic myself for two and a half years, with the major problem being that I am getting nailed with six attacks per day (try getting a doc to allow THAT much Imitrex per day) and very little seems to help. None of the standard preventative/prophylactic meds have helped, and all the neuros have basically given up trying that route. The final result? Still getting six attacks per day, but am now being prescribed pain management meds to control things and allow me to have some semblance of a life for now. God, I can only hope for a break in the cycle some day. Any further questions, feel free to e-mail me direct should you like.
Blue skies and PFNAD,
