I have had cluster increasing in severity and occurance since 1987. SInce then I have run the gambit of treatments. O2, Imitrex, Zomig, Maxalt, Amerge, Calcium Channel Blockers, and pain killers. All of thriptans make me stop breathing. Don't know which is worse cluster or not breathing (only when the clusters is at full swing). Knock out/stupifying drugs at least turn down the noise. During one particularly hard episode I took too many pain killers trying to drown out the pain. I over dosed and was taken to the ER. When I told them that it was because of a headache they said SURE IT IS... So now I am labled, my doc of many years has stopped the pain meds and relegated me to midrin. I occasionly go to the ER and get shots, but not enough to cause suspicion, the others I just suffer through. I might as well take M&M's as take the other preventatives and so called solutions. I am not a drug addict, I am in serious pain most of the time. I have maybe half of any month that is bearable and that is it.
