First, thanks for your input.
Second, I did a literature search on PubMed and found that there are no clinical trials on long term use of triptans. The closest thing I was able to find was a study done on menstrually induced migraine in which the researchers concluded that taking Imitrex for 5 to 7 days is no problem...and that does WHAT??? for me....
Anyway...my next strategy will be ordering meds online from an international pharmacy...
I am worrying about rebound...but find that, in the moment, I will do anything to kill the pain regardless of the after effects.
I have also found that, once feeling the cloud come over, that jumping on my stationary bike and pedaling like crazy will stop the headaches faster than the amerge that I have taken in the past. This keeps the pain away for about 30 to 45 minutes.
In addition, I am attempting to regulate the stability of my blood sugar levels in order to reduce daily highs and lows whcih seem to bring on more headaches. I have been sugarless for about 10 days.
