It is true that there are some people who can't take Imitrex because they have pre-existing heart conditions. This is a much smaller percentage than most people realize.
If your heart is normal, then taking Imitrex will not damage it. Imitrex will not CAUSE heart defects, it will just make things tough for anyone who has such a defect already.
For what it's worth, before I learned about the mushroom therapy, every single cluster cycle I went through involved my eating as many as four or five 100 mg Imitrex tablets every day for months at a stretch. I did that every year from 1993 till 2000. It had no effect on my heart whatsoever. Wish I could say the same for my bank account (I have no medical insurance -- I pay full pop for all my meds).
From what I have read on this board, I am not the only clusterhead that has done this. There are probably more clusterheads who killed themselves than got a heart attack from Imitrex.
