Does anyone in this group have any experience with a herbal remedy called 5-HTP? I am an AARP Squad member looking for relief from what has been years of atypical cluster headaches. Imitrex seems to work for the serious headaches but can't be taken as frequently as they occur. My unique CH aspect is that most are 2 to 3 on a 5 scale, getting to 5 only about once a month. The 3s ocurr about 10-20 times a month. Excedrine Migraine works for the lesser CHs. Imitrex for the 4s and 5s. I am interested in a natural (?) solution that will help and this 5-HTP stuff has been recommended.

Also: I am working on an appointment with the Mayo Clinic - any comments?
