I have been suffering for 5 years and my GP put me through hell. I finally got pissed and thanks to my dad, got an appointment with a neuro. I had printed up a bunch of info from the net for my appointment and he concurred with me. I suggest you do the same thing.
My cycles last 4 months..recently finished my last one. My neuro put me on 240 mg of verapamil a day.. upped it to 320 mg about a month and a half ago. Tried zomig 2.5 mg didn't work for the night calls. Now use imitrex injections. They are a god send.
Strangely enough the only time I would have a respite from the pain was when I was in my period....so hormones for me were not a trigger. I haven't been on the pill since 1990..so can't relate to that either. During some cycles they followed a pattern and during others they did not. Your time frame is very similar to what mine was this cycle.
