In my 19 years of clusters, I've seen around 6 neuros and 3 GPs. Only one of the 6 neuros knew his stuff and (more importantly) would listen to my input. 3 out of 3 of the GPs listened, but only 2 knew CH.

My guess is that it's not a neuro vs. GP thing, but rather a matter of the individual personality of the doc. Some neuros put themselves right at the top of the artificial medical hierarchy they create in their mind...one step below god (maybe) and, as such, won't listen to anyone who's credentials don't match or surpass their own.

Given that even the diagnosis of CH is highly subjective, as medical disorders go, I feel it's critical to find a doc who'll listen, ask, discuss, read and carefully develop a diagnosis and then treatment plan. Which set of letters follows "M.D." on the paper on his wall is of virtually no relevance to me whatsoever.

That said, Karla, I'm thrilled that you've found a caring, knowledgeable doc. Hope you find permanent PFDAN soon!
KTSSU,
T
