Does anybody know of any biofeedback or relaxation response tapes or CDs that I could purchase at a bookstore? (Can't order anything on line because I don't have a credit card). I'm not interested in new age ethereal music with whales groaning and ocean waves lapping the shoreline....I'm looking for an instructional tape/CD that will lead me through the actual biofeedback or relaxation exercise. I took a chronic pain management course that taught us the basics of techniques like imagery, progressive relaxation, and breathing, but I find myself getting bored doing the same exercises over and over again. It's difficult for me to read a book and then try the exercise and that's why I really need a tape/CD to walk me through it. After I get the hang of the exercise it I can do it on my own without the tape/CD.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. :)
I saw Charlie's post about redirecting your blood flow from your head to your hands and that sounds like something that could work for me, but I would need a instructional tape/CD to be able to master that technique.
If anyone is interested in exchanging information or experiences regarding biofeedback/breathing/imagery exercises that have worked for you please feel free to email me. I'd love to exchange success (and failure) stories. Thanks! May everyone's new year be full of peace, comfort, and as many pain free days as possible. :) Thanks again! Samantha Smith
