As of Nov 28th I stopped taking medication. I had been on between 120-480mg of Verapamil a day for around 3-4 years. During that time I felt that the verapamil was keeping everything in check. Last October I started getting attacks so I upped my dose of Verapamil and added 1000mg of Valproeic Acid. No luck. I was getting hit everyday. Attacks were no less than 6 on the Kip scale. After a month of that, my Neuro prescribed Lithium. The thought of Lithium freaked me out, so I started posting questions on the board. Anyway, to make a long story short I stopped all meds and within 10 days my attacks decreased in frequency and intensity. In December I had maybe 4 attacks, but they were only 5s and didn't last very long. Otherwise, I've had a shadow or two everyday but nothing more. I've had wine and beer on a few occasions over the holidays just to test things out. No problems. I've also taken shrooms twice. They weren't that strong. I took 2 grams on each occasion and in both cases got slight attacks at the end of the trip (4-5). Bottom line, I feel better. I just wanted to share that with everyone with the hope that maybe someone will find this info relevant, insightful or whatever. HAPPY NEW YEAR ! I WISH YOU ALL HAPPINESS, COURAGE, STRENGTH AND A PAIN FREE YEAR !!
