a drug addict I suspect it is because the Docs have manipulated you into that situation. This is my neuros theory: When doctors withhold pain management medications, or prescribe in limited doses, they create the addiction monster. You are now constantly preoccupied with obtaining medications that you are ligitamately in need of. You begin to chase the medications out of neccessity thus creating the psychological addiction. If the doctors were less concearned about being reprimanded or chastised by the HMOs and insurance companies, and more concerned with their patients welfare, the whole doctor switching, drug chasing nightnare would be significantly reduced to the small percentage of people who are drug seeking illigitamately.
