COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS
THE FOLLOWING IS SOMETHING TO PONDER:
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep...you are richer than 75% of this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, or spare change in a dish someplace...you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation...you are ahead of many people in the world.
If you can attend a church meeting with fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death...you are more blessed than 3 billion people in the world.
If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder...you are blessed because you can offer healing touch.
If you can read this message you are more blessed than billions of people in the world who cannot read at all.
Have a good day, count your blessings, and pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we really are.
P.S. My Mom gave me this on February 23, 2001. I had a full bottle of OxyContin on my bed stand, a Kel Tec 9 mm with hollow points in my closet, and a plan "for a way out". I thought that I had suffered "more than anyone else in the entire world"....until I read the above. I pray that God/Goddess/Allah/Higher Power blesses and has mercy on those who have less than us. Although I fall into the pity pot time and time again I try to remember that it REALLY could be worse.
