I'm glad you posted this article. There has been discussion on whether triptans caused rebounds or not. This article shows that triptans do cause rebounds although not as badly as ergots and analgesics do.
There is an article (along with the one you posted) in the OUCH Research Library, Medications page where they actually use Imitrex to treat rebounds.
Some felt that if their cluster headache came back shortly after taking medication, it was a rebound headache. It's not. It's a recurring cluster headache. Rebound headaches are more like tension headaches caused by withdrawal from extended periods of taking these medications.
