Topomax seems to be helping a lot of chronics, from the reports we see on this message board.
My guess is that your doc will tell you to hold the line at your current dose of 100 mg per day, unless the pain returns. He may even suggest cutting it back slightly to see if an even lower dose will work. Any doc worth his salt is conservative when it comes to meds... standard medical procedure for any med that must be taken for long periods of time is to determine the minimum necessary amount of medication and stick with it. This approach obviously has several benefits: fewer side effects, less tolerance to the medication (the medication is less likely to lose its "punch" over time, as so often happens with cluster meds), fewer potential interactions with other meds, lower cost.
It's great to see some good news on this board.
