Victor, you state that stuffy nose, rhinitis, whatever is an important characteristic of CH. This is not entirely correct, according to the IHS classification for Clusters. Their diagnosis guidelines state that one of several accompanying symptoms must be present to make the CH diagnosis....it is entirely possible to have CH and have no sinus related symptoms whatsoever.
You also ask why O2 is effective and imply that it may have something to do with your theory about the involvement of sinus activity. Are you aware that med students learn very early in their training that O2 is a great way to relieve the headache that comes with a hangover? From this, it would seem that the beneficial effect O2 has on headaches of many types is centered in the brain, not the sinus.
I, too, welcome any and all theories, but as much as I defend the presenter's right to pose them, I defend the right of others to challenge them. I give no credence to the "if I post it a million times it will become accepted theory" some here have adopted from the popular media, however. Rather, I tend to be most willing to endorse those theories which are logically laid out, rationally presented and include some fact-based reason for the belief. I accept anecdotal evidence for what it is worth, and discount "trends" based on one individual's experience.
By all means, continue to post your ideas. But don't get your panties in a wad when others contest your conclusions.
KTSSU,
